Join the Coast Guard Auxiliary

The next meeting of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in Newport will be 7:00 to

9:00 PM on Tuesday, September 2nd at the Coast Guard Station Yaquina Bay

mess deck. Anyone interested in joining this volunteer organization that works to

support the Coast Guard is welcome to attend this meeting.

Requirements for membership are: U.S citizenship, minimum age of 17, no

felonies, and ability to pass a background check. Ownership of a boat is a plus,

but not a requirement: many other skills are needed and welcome. For Yaquina

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed civilian component of

the United States Coast Guard. Auxiliary members can be found on the nation's

waterways, in the air, in classrooms and on the dock, performing Maritime

Domain Awareness patrols, safety patrols, vessel safety checks and public
